Joystick - adds a single joystick that contains an X, Y, and Z axis (including rotation), 32 buttons, 2 hat switches, a throttle, and a rudder. Mouse cursor loss experiences vary from user to user, from those who can’t game at all as it freezes so frequently/quickly, to others like myself who can get 2-3 days gaming in before encountering a cursor freeze. Microsoft Flight Simulator X Steam Edition has updated multiplayer and Windows 8.1 support. Take off from anywhere in the world, flying some of the world’s most iconic aircraft to any one of 24,000 destinations. It is random in occurance but affects a lot of players using a mouse (wired or wireless). The multi award winning Microsoft Flight Simulator X lands on Steam for the first time. The issue is described in a (now long) thread/post and we are trying to get MS to acknowledge it / fix the issue. HOWEVER: there is an ongoing issue with many FS mouse users encountering mouse cursor freezes, often on the flight planner/ world map but sometimes in the cockpit too. I’ve been playing with the controller and Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS One (coming from Saitek X52 and X56, the Thrusmaster is OK but not my favourite). ![]() 100% better than XBox controller experience IMHO. I’ve been playing Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X for a few weeks having come from years of earlier flight sims on PC. FS on XBox with this setup runs really well and behaves more like a PC flight sim experience. I have a HOTAS One on a 3m USB extn + a wireless mouse and keybaord (Leadsail) running though a wireless USB dongle on the front of the XBox. You 'can' play without a joystick, but it will definitely be significantly more difficult. I am trying to control the airplane without using a joystick, and having a lot of trouble getting past the first tutorial. ![]()
